DigiTimes has published a report that MSI will be raising their graphics card prices officially in lieu of the current supply issues that the company expects to persists until the end of the year according to MSI chairman Joseph Hsu. No actual quote of the chairman was indicated in the report that indicates he plans to raise prices.
In an investor conference on March 23, Hsu stated that demand for motherboards, graphics cards and gaming laptops will remain high and will continue to rise throughout the year and is looking to continue the 2020 boom with a 30-50% outlook.
MSI was questioned about Q4 2020 being weaker and Hsu answered that due to the weakening Taiwanese Dollar, as well as logistics issues and increasing marketing expense for the holidays was the main cause for the Q4 drop.
The DigiTimes articles discloses possible NVIDIA GPU releases in Q2-2021 and Intel’s 11th-generation CPU which should help MSI boost its first half revenues.
