With Battlefield V being the pioneer raytracing title for PC, EA DICE seems to want that continued as they are announcing that NVIDIA is their official PC platform partner. This means that Battlefield 2042 should come with raytracing + DLSS out of the box as well as NVIDIA’s Reflex technology.
As of this moment though, nothing about in-game graphics has been disclosed by EA except that the game will have DLSS and Reflex. NVIDIA also dropped their own announcement stating the same.
EA is also confirming that their console platform partner will be the Xbox Series X|S. Logitech will also release Battlefield 2042-collaboration release products with WD’s WD_BLACK brand as the storage partner of choice.
Yes, all of this is just marketing fluff to hype the game up, and for a gaming releasing on October 22 later this year, EA needs all the marketing fuel they need. As for us, we’re curious to see how they’re building up the game. Its nice to see the modern era Battlfield return and with the expanse of Battlefield’s maps, its logical they may still be iffy about raytracing if they’re focusing on multiplayer. They could drop it in on a later update but for now, that remains to be seen.
