As the RGB hype in gaming keyboards subside, brands are now having a hard time in making their product unique aside from their “innovative” flashy lighting effects that makes your setup feel like christmas. This year, gamdias decided to take its gaming keyboards for a different spin featuring low profile and optical switches.
Hermes P3 RGB Mechanical Keyboard
First of the line is the Hermes P3 mechanical keyboard. One of its main highlights is that it features low profile mechanical switches, the demo unit comes with a brown variant that has a similar feel to its full sized counterpart. Its keycaps are also in a low profile but the keyboard still seems big due to its extra chins.
Hermes M2 Optical Keyboard
Next up is an Optical Keyboard, the Hermes M2. Optical switches are generally immune from degradation of mechanical siwtches from oxidation of its metal parts as the way the input is being received and transmitted is different. The Hermes M2 has the same feel of a blue switch. The keyboard’s lighting only supports 7 colors with standard lighting effects.
Hermes E1A Gaming Keyboard
The Hermes E1A is Gamdias’ entry level gaming keyboard with mechanical switches. It uses a Kailh blue mechanical keyboard switch. The keyboard only supports 2 lighting modes, static and breathing.
Hermes M3 RGB Low-Profile Mechanical Keyboard
Ofcourse we choose to save the best for last as this is also personal favorite, the Hermes M3 Low Profile Mechanical Keyboard. The keyboard has a TKL layout and at first glance, it looks like a cleaner version of the Rakk Kimat. It has a brushed aluminum texture with silver edging. It sports a kailh blue low profile switch that has the same tactile and audible characteristic with that of a regular blue switch. The keyboard has a very slim profile that makes it portable thanks to its low profile switches coupled with matching keycaps. As an addition, it also comes with a detachable type-C USB cable for user convenience.
All the keyboards mentioned above contain standard features such as N-Key Rollover, Anti-Ghosting and macros. All of the keyboards except the E1A, uses the Hera Software for its RGB lighting.
