Globe Telecom is the Philippinesโ most awarded telecommunications operator in theย first half of 2016 following a series of recognitions given to the company by various institutions.
โThe string of awards given to Globe testify to the companyโsย excellence in creating shared value to all our stakeholders even in the face of intense industry competition amid a continuing customer adoption of a digital lifestyle,โ Globe Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto said.

Two of such awards conferred on the company are Frost & Sullivan Philippines Telecom Service Provider of the Year Award and Mobile Service Provider of the Year Award.ย Both awards were given to Globe for having demonstrated exemplary growth and performance in 2015. Both awards were evaluated based on the number of subscribers, subscriber growth, revenue growth, EBITDA margin and net margin.
Earlier this year, Globe was also named by Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific as Telecom Service Provider of the Year award for 2016, also in recognition of the companyโs impressive business performance in the previous year. Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
Globe also recently gained recognition from Institutional Investor, a leading international business to business publisher, focused primarily on international finance. Based on the results of its 2016 All Asia (ex-Japan) Executive Team rankings survey, Globe President & CEO Ernest Cu came out second place in the Overall Best CEO category for Telecommunications, and third place Sell-Side Best CEO category.
Institutional Investorโs 2016 All-Asia Executive Team surveyed buy-side analysts, money managers and sell-side researchers at securities firms and financial institutions that cover the region. Specifically, they were asked to name the best chief executive officers, chief financial officers and investor relations professionals at the companies in their coverage universes. All votes are weighted by place (first, second, third or fourth).
Globe was also recognized as an โHonored Companyโ as the company secured at least one Top Three position in the Telecommunications sector. According to Institutional Investor Research, a total of 1,541 companies across 18 sectors were nominated this year, making the possibility of a top three position quite competitive.ย The 2016 All-Asia Executive Team survey reflects the opinions of 1,394 investment professionals at 582 financial institutions. Respondents of the buy side work at firms that collectively manage an estimated $963 billion in Asia ex-Japan equities.
In addition, Charlton East Coles, an independent market research firm, conferred two citations on Globe Telecom. Specifically, the company was named Philippines Company of the Year 2016-Top 15 and Philippines Diversified Telecommunications Services Company of the year 2016, based on a survey of fund managers and analysts into their perceptions of Asiaโs largest corporates.
A total of 213 fund managers and analysts across the region and they were asked to rate the largest listed companies across 10 categories, with a total score then given for each company. Charlton East Coles is the leading financial research firm in the equities, investment banking & corporate performance markets in Australia.
Globe Telecom also was declared first runner-up in Best in Ethics and Governance Award at the ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Awards 2016, a category that recognizes the unwavering commitment of organizations towards the upholding the highest levels of governance and business ethos over and beyond compliance needs.ย The recognitions attest to the companyโs commitment in upholding good corporate governance that helps drive its business success.
The ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summitย and Awards has been the pre-eminent sustainabilityย forum in the Philippines. Each year, it has been a hostย to luminaries of all sectors from both Philippinesย and beyond. In 2015, Globe delivered a record performance, surpassing the companyโs previous yearโs record performance, posting new highs in service revenues, EBITDA, and earnings. Even in the face of intense industry competition, the company registered broad-based data-driven growth across its key services. Globe solidified its leadership in the digital space by focusing on improving customer experience and by riding with the shift toward greater data consumption across all segments.

di lang yan ang award dapat ng globe at smart, Guiness World Record “slowest LTE in the world!!!, slowest Internet in the world!!!”
Nope. Not really the slowest. It’s somewhere in the african region where they still use dial up connection. Pasalamat nalang tayo nag aaverage na tayo ng 7mbps ngayon na last year eh 3mbps lang. ๐
Di mabagal LTE dito a. Limited areas lang problema tsaka mababa yung capped.
Tsaka may fibr na rin tayo. Problema is limited areas nanaman haha.
Once nasolusyonan yan, tas lahat nakafibr. Kasing bilis na natin yung sa SG. Presyuhan nalang problema kung gano kamahal. haha
The slowest internet award goes to “GLOBE” slow and with cap
:poop:
OMG! Really? hahaha
#LTE

well I’m a happy globe LTE postpaid user, better experience than smart. nasa area lang yan…
HAAAAAA!!!!???????!!!!!
Award should be Least Shittiest ISP
Ang complain ko lang sa Globe is ung bandwidth cap, sana tanggalin nila!
ano po yang “RUNNER-UP” sa gilid ng pic ?
What a load of crap. I’ll tell you why… I have been a loyal Globe subscriber for the better part of the decade. I was happy before but now I’m disappointed. When it comes to stability and support, they show promise. But when it comes to bandwidth and capping, they suck big time.
All their entry and mid range connections, wired or wireless have this disease called data capping. The only consumer plan without cap is the 2mbps DSL with landline. We have the option to upgrade for the same price but it will come with a 70GB monthly cap. What’s the point of faster access if you have that cap. In my line of work, I download ISO’s on a daily basis. These ISO’s are from Microsoft MCT. Oh did I mention windows update? What about those MS Office updates that are somewhere the 9.6GB size? With all the systems i fix, that 70GB cap is way too small.
I also have 2 post paid accounts. One is already inactive since Globe tried to bill me for more than 3,000 SMS. I mean seriously, 3k txt msgs in a month?
The last one I wanted to upgrade since i have a tiny, puny data allocation of 50MB per month. Sure I can get a free upgrade by signing up to a new plan but I could never retain my current number which is the most important. But they said it couldn’t be done. Well maybe if i was some rich business tycoon or something. But I’m a nobody.
The only thing they got right is GCash.
Oh Globe’s website is super slow even when i’m on Globe DSL, really pathetic.
So in short, Globe Telecoms is no longer a top option for me. It’s slow and restrictive. OF all the ISP’s available, Globe offers the slowest bandwidth vs price. It’s inability to adapt to customer needs is really appalling.
putang ina nila
they can suck my router.. this is a joke
Mabilis naman globe dito samin sa dasma kaso sana nman tanggalin yung capping haha
