Microsoft has officially announced the completion of their acquisition of ZeniMax Media following news that it has cleared with regulators. This marks the largest acquisition for Microsoft valued at $7.5 billion, one that nets them a large port folio of IPs as well as development studios including Bethesda, id Software, Arkane Studios and MachineGames.
This move is expected to heavily beef up their Xbox library with first-party titles coming from studios that are responsible for the most commercially successful titles including Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM Dishonored and Wolfenstein. Microsoft is also announcing that these games will now be part of Xbox Game Pass, furthering improving the large library that the Xbox has which already includes a good portion of EA’s game library.
No major leadership changes are expected in the near future and existing exclusive game deals like Deathloop for the Playstation will proceed as planned.
