NVIDIA has just announced the first entry-level graphics card for the GeForce 700 series, the GT 740.
The NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 features a Kepler-based GK107 GPU with a total of 384 CUDA cores, 32 TMUs and a total of 16ROPs. The GPU is complemented by 1GB up to 2GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit bus. The card has a TDP rating of 64W and is powered straight off the PCIe slot.
The card is a rebadge of the GT640 and is expected to compete with other sub-100$ offers from AMD’s APU processors and Intel’s HD Graphics while offering more decent GPU performance.
