With the silent release of the GTX 1060 3GB, NVIDIA is looking to setup a new GPU release with Benchlife leaking supposed specifications of the upcoming GTX 1050 based on the same 16nm FinFET manufacturing as the other Pascal GPUs.
So far NVIDIA has released three Pascal chips in the market namely the GP102, the GP104 and the GP106. The GTX 1050 is reportedly using the GP107 codename for its GPU and will be the smallest GPU to date unless a non-GTX cards becomes available in the future e.g. GP108. The GP107 will be a fully-enabled variant and not a disabled model like its bigger brothers.
Specifications for the NVIDIA GTX 1050 will reportedly have 768 CUDA cores running at 1316Mhz with a boost clock of 1380Mhz. A 7Ghz memory clock compliments the card with 4GB of GDDR5 wired to a 128-bit bus. NVIDIA is expected to release the reference design without the need for extra PCI-e power with the GPU only needed 75W. AIB partners are free to beef up the card like the RX 460 which is designed without a PCIe power connector.
The NVIDIA GTX 1050 is expected to be priced at around $149, below the GTX 1060 3GB model and will compete directly with the AMD Radeon RX 470. The card, like its Maxwell predecessors, will be heavily marketed towards MOBA gamers and 1080p gaming. This will make it the most affordable Pascal GPU when released.
The NVIDIA GTX 1050 is estimated to launch Mid-October.

Nice joke but afaik, GTX SERIES ends with 50’s the rest are GT Series na ๐
I know, it’s just so amazing that it keeps going down. And the soecs are soo near to 900 series.
The point is to make the price lower with better architecture and performance. If it were as simple as upgrading one GPU to the next, then why do they make lower cards? Because its needed. Do u think a GTX 980 is the same as a GTX 1060 even if they have the same benchmarks? No. The 1060 has a newer architecture that works with newer games better and is cheaper at launch forcing the 980 to price drop. Do you really think a GTX 590 today even as cheap as it can be will perform the same on a newer GPU with the same price in newer games? Ofc not. FPS is just a number. If making lower-end GPUs isn’t an option, then you’re looking at everyone in the world who can only afford low to mid-end PCs using legacy GPUs and cant benefit on the newer ones.
Its also amazing how you point out to instigate someone who’s trying to explain. And the excuse of saying your post is a joke is the joke. Because clearly you never knew anything even with the second comment. Grow up.
Right. Good for you. Thank you, sir.
for some reason my guts still wants me to go over AMD’s offerings
lol
