More news of Intel’s upcoming desktop CPUs are emerging and now photos of the new Core i9-10900 (Non-K) processor have surfaced courtesy of Xfastest. The photo doesn’t disclosed much except that engineering samples are already at the hands of certain people which means a hard launch is nearing.
With Intel pushing for more cores with Comet Lake-S, the new desktop i9 for mainstream desktop will not feature 10-cores for the Core i9-10900. As a non-K processor, the TDP rating for this 10-core part is 65 watts. The Core i9-10900K unlocked CPU though will be a 125W part. That means that the i9-10900 will be sufficiently easier to cool than its unlocked counterpart. The Core i9-10900 will be a 2.5Ghz CPU at base with earlier speculations saying that 2.8Ghz clock will be the base clock for the Core i9-10900 but these images suggest otherwise but given the development nature of these images, Intel can still change that.
The pictured processor is connected to a Socket LGA1200 socket, which will be the new CPU socket for the Comet Lake S CPUs for this generation. Socket LGA2011 will be fully compatible with LGA1151 but cooling performance will up to the cooler itself so users are advised to consult their TDP capacity for compatibility with their existing coolers.
