During their latest investors relations (IR Day 2021) for Game & Network Services Segment, Sony has revealed the plans of releasing more of their first-party games to PC. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the latest installment in the Uncharted saga, is looking to be released in the near future.
This is according to information in page 26 of Sony’s presentation slides for investors.
Sony has had good results from their exclusives making their way to PC, one example is Horizon: Zero Dawn and recently Days Gone. This should cover much of the needed marketing and development cost of porting the games to PC.
This does bite back Sony in terms of losing exclusivity down the line but Microsoft’s never bothered with this issue and has embraced sharing IPs on PC and consoles.
