Anyone currently inconvenienced by the current spate of outages on the Playstation Network might have to bear with it a little longer than expected. As reported on the Playstation Blog via Gamespot, the downtime might actually take a while to restore. Now before I start cracking jokes about how it’s Lent and all and how we should sacrifice some of the things we like for the spirit of the occasion, network downtime is never a good thing. Besides, being forced off the PSN rather than taking a break from it is a completely different story, but I digress.

If you’ll remember earlier this month, hacker collective Anonymous took down the PSN with a series of attacks in the aid of George Hotz. However, they called off the attacks after stating that it isn’t their intention to hurt Sony’s customers, but rather the company itself.
