RAKK has been continuously improving its products especially its mechanical keyboard line. They have done a good job in listening to customer feedback. Their product releases are a result of their effort to satisfy their customers.
Today, RAKK showcased their upcoming mechanical keyboard at Mech Collective 2018. They had a booth setup featuring the Specter Pro 144Hz monitor, Rakk Ilig V2 and the new keyboard prototype.
The new mechanical keyboard is a 96key compact layout with the alphas, modifiers arrow keys and numpad. This layout may feel weird as its not the usual TKL or 60% layout the most brands offer. The benefit of this layout is that the user gets to keep the arrow keys and numpad in a smaller footprint by ommitting keys like del, scroll up, down, pg up, pg down and etc.
The keyboard surprisingly has a removable magnetic top case that gives you the option to change the keyboard’s look. The keyboard will also have a software to control its RGB lighting.
Another suprising and convenient feature that the keyboard has it the ability to store a keycap and a keycap puller underneath the keyboard.
The new Rakk Keyboard will come with Gateron Yellow switches or Hot swappable Outemu Blue switches. The removable magnetic top case will come in either black or white.
We expect the new mechanical keyboard to be priced at around P3,000 based from their previous mechanical keyboard releases. The outemu blue variant should be priced lower than the Gateron Yellow model. The keyboard is expected to release this quarter.
Tammy Padal, technician ng bayan, also confirmed that they are currently intalks with Ganss for another upcoming mechanical keyboard.
