A certain individual is handing out hefty donations to Twitch.tv streamers with some amounts reaching as high as $50,000. The generous individual known only as “Ahmai” has given out more than $100,000 in donations to various streams throughout the span of last year.
Ahmai started off handing out smaller amounts around $500 to 1000$ then moved on the sums in the tens of thousand dollar mark to his favored players. World of Warcraft arena world champion Isaac “Azael” Cummings-Bentley reported that Amhai — rumored to be an oil tycoon from Dubai — has given him more than $30,000 in donations, while his friend Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris received $50,000.
The mysterious Ahmai is stated by beneficiaries starts out by “testing” streamers. Those who were to show more gratitude to his gesture received larger donations after seeing their reactions from his initial smaller donations.
“If he thought they were funny, or touching, he’d want to give more,” said Cummings-Bentley.
As highlighted above, the rumors of Ahmai being an oil baron from the middle east is quite prevalent although Cummings-Bentley who has been in contact with Ahmai denied the rumors. Cummings-Bentley went on to state that Ahmai just wants to keep his identity secret.
“I don’t think he really wants anything said about him,” Cummings-Bentley said. “He is just a very, very wealthy individual.”
