Valve is announcing their game experience program for the Steam Deck with a fully-verified compatible game earning the top of a four-tier classification system, the highest of which is a Steam Deck Verified game marked by a green icon on the Steam Deck Steam Library and Store. The classification tiering is as follows:
- Verified – your game passes compatibility check and is a great experience on Steam Deck
- Playable – your game works on Steam Deck but requires manual extra steps (e.g. graphics settings)
- Unsupported – your game does not work on Steam Deck due to incompatibility with Proton or hardware requirements
- Unknown – your game hasn’t been checked yet
Steam will have a special sorting for the Store page on the Steam Deck that will allow players to sort games in the Steam Deck game store to show games that are verified great on Deck. Games marked as playable will have some notes on compatibility and will alert players on what needs to be manually done.
Do note that if you already own these games, you can try them yourself but playability is not guaranteed.
