Veteran Ran player, BabyAnnEk makes an open statement directed to LUG! that chronicles her (and her guild’s) experience with Level Up! Game’s infamous customer service. The status update also presented her thoughts, opinions and concerns about the LUG! and E-games merger and the future of her beloved game, Ran Online.
The post also mentions of how the LUG! receptionist was particularly unpleasant and unhelpful. Instead of attending to our problem, she began to make nasty comments about E-Games customers. She accused us of being very troublesome and fussy.
She also critics E-game’s annual Domination VI event that suddenly moved from SMX to World Trade Center.

The Acquisition of E-Games by Level Up Games
To the officer in charge,
When I discovered that E-Games is being acquired by Level Up Games through a merger, I was devastated. It is common knowledge amongst the gaming community that games that are acquired by Level Up Games deteriorate quickly and lose players. We hear stories of poor service, utter disregard for the opinions of online communities and the complete abolishment of entire hierarchies of game group leadership. As a loyal, paying Alpha consumer of RAN Online, I write this letter in protest of these unwanted changes and initial signs of disregard for player opinion.
As very senior gamers of RAN Online, we were honoured with VIP status by E-Games. When one of our guild member’s accounts was hacked, we went to the offices of Level Up Games, only to be greeted by unpleasantness and abject rudeness. The receptionist was particularly unpleasant and unhelpful. Instead of attending to our problem, she began to make nasty comments about E-Games customers. She accused us of being very troublesome and fussy. Despite the fact that we are paying customers, she kept us in suspended helplessness by brewing an air of unrepentant rudeness and shameless inaction. This was the manner in which we were welcomed into Level Up Games; by being branded as “troublesome E-Games garbage†despite our paying good money to your organization. The same can never be said of E-Games. Whenever we approached them, be it in their offices or by telephone, they always treated us with the greatest courtesy and the most effective and prompt service.
At the Domination 6 Event On April 21st, we were perplexed by the sudden relocation of the event to the World Trade Center. To our horror, the venue was extremely hot and humid as the air conditioning was turned off, and the entire place stank of sweat and body odour. Not surprisingly, the event was a complete failure. There were very few people who attended compared to previous events. The event should have been held at SMX, as it has always been done before. The World Trade Center is only accessible by car or taxi and is a lousy choice to hold an event that targets an audience of youth and young adults. Although I was able to freely take my choice of parking slots when I went, that is always a bad sign indicative of a failed event.
I write to your good office with the sincere hope that in this very critical time, the experienced staff of E-Games remain in their posts and that our beloved game RAN Online remains unchanged and maintained as the prime MMORPG that it is today. As one of the few honoured with VIP status by E-Games, I hope that Level Up Games will continue to honour our loyalty and patronage. I beseech you not to allow RAN Online to follow in the doomed footsteps of the former hit Khan Online. It was once a thriving MMORPG, but after being acquired by Level Up Games, faded into oblivion.
I hope that Level Up Games will continue the legacy of excellent service and hierarchy of loyal customers that E-Games fostered in RAN Online. As a businesswoman myself, I would like to point out that one Alpha consumer can easily replace five regular consumers, so we are a consumer group that your organisation should take special care of, and in turn, we as a group will show you how we take special care of a Game Company that we love.
I end my letter, faithful that Level Up Games will take our suggestions not only in consideration, but also in full action. Let this not be the end of RAN Online. Instead, let it be a new chapter for a brighter new beginning for us all.
Sincerely,
BabyAnnEk (RanOnline)
Ms. Annek C.
On a more personal note however, I must commend Ms. Annek C. for creating such a well thought of statement. Because in my experience, whenever I see Ran players complain- it’s often riddled with expletives and threats.
To Ms. Annek C. kudos to your dedication to the game! And I do hope LUG! gets to read this.
