Aerocool is perhaps best known for their chassis. Featuring a distinct style unique to them and offering these products at very low prices, Aerocool has carved a very nice image of itself in the computer enthusiast scene. Aiming to expand its PGS gaming line, Aerocool has released other products under the Strike X series including case accessories, power supplies and surprisingly, gaming peripherals. Under the Strike X peripheral port folio are keyboards, mice and mousepads and for today’s review we’ll check the wireless mouse offering from Aerocool: the Strike X Freedom. With a name straight off a Gundam known for Robotech-ing and spamming beam weapons like crazy, the Strike X Freedom has a lot to prove. Let’s get some specs and images before we get going:
Here’s a look-around gallery of the Strike X Freedom mouse:
First thing we notice about the Strike X Freedom is the size. It’s quite small similar to most portable mice but has bulk to it that really sets it apart. The main body is covered in a matte black finish and the bottom shell is red. It’s a nice color scheme all and in all and the matte surface does have a quality feel. Sadly though, the red part looks really cheap like it was made of substandard material. The Strike X Freedom is powered by two AAA batteries and they are not included. The wireless transceiver is docked at the bottom and can be stored when not in use. We suggest removing the batteries when not in use as the mouse does not have an on/off switch.
In true Aerocool fashion, the Strike X Freedom is packaged in their signature flame-styled box with the front flap revealing the product inside. Opening up the package we have the Strike X Freedom and a piece of documentation and that’s pretty much it.
