Introduction
KLEVV has filled a void in the PC enthusiast space which craved for high-performance memory modules. Even with a big selection in the market today, the performance crown has not been taken yet although KLEVV has had numerous success to be a top contender with numerous overclocking achievements under their belt which is enough for savvy users to pick the brand over others. The company has relished in this silent marketing for them but has successfully maintained a consistent progression of quality and performance, never settling for a single design.
This week, we’ll be taking a look at a pair of new memory kits from KLEVV which have just hit the market: the KLEVV BOLT XR and KLEVV CRAS XR RGB. In this review we’ll take a look at the KLEVV BOLT XR, refined from KLEVV’s BOLT memory series, it is the company’s embodiment of minimalist form but offers great performance.

Read on to find out more about the KLEVV BOLT XR DDR4 memory kit.

Closer Look
KLEVV packages the BOLT XR in simple clear packaging. We can see the modules inside. The paper part of the package is a full color print showing us the labels including a capacity and speed label up-top. Over at the back we have features and details.

The KLEVV BOLT series is a non-RGB performance series aimed at providing best-in-class performance at a more discrete style. The KLEVV BOLT XR is an evolution of the series which features a more minimalist heatspreader design but encompasses many features which made the BOLT series the go-to option for simple, no-RGB builds.
The heatspreader is done in a light bronze finish and is detailed with a slight bulge at the top and small dimpled lines on the midside.
The KLEVV BOLT XR measures approximately 7.5mm thick and is 37mm high. Its rather low profile makes if fairly compatible with a lot of tower heatsinks.
Since its non-RGB, the KLEVV Bolt XR, no software is needed.

Overclocking
These reviews were planned to be tested on our AMD setup has AMD has been much more friendlier to higher clocks but with AMD proving to be the more flexible platform when it comes to overclocking, I’ve planned our memory reviews to be done on our 3rd-gen Ryzen system. Unfortunately our preferred motherboard couldn’t be available so we’ll have to make due by seeing how far we can take it on an Intel system. We don’t put much stock on OC performance as a lot of users will never touch OC settings hence these are presented only for reference and is only comparable on a similar system.

Conclusion

Not a lot of brands has managed to create an enduring aura about them much like KLEVV. While still working their way for mainstream recognition, KLEVV products has managed to impress time and again with their offerings. The KLEVV BOLT XR continues that legacy, providing PC builders a great option especially if they’re seeking to go up on their rated RAM speeds without going dipping into RGB realm.
Depending on where you look, reviews will mostly lean towards the impressive overclocking of these kit and that’s true. For those that want to try their hands on overclocking their memory, the KLEVV bolt can easily jump ratings to its higher rated brothers at DDR4-4000 with the same timings but I personally prefer sticking with the DDR4-3600 timings of 18-22-22-42 at 1.35v XMP settings vs. going with 19-25-25-45 1.4v. Stress testing yield stable results and should reliably extend further for those who want more.
Going back to out-of-box performance, these kits are sold only in DDR4-3600 and DDR-4000 kits. Pricing should be minimal so I highly recommend just jumping on the DDR4-3600 kits especially if you’re on a Z-series Intel system or a 3rd-gen Ryzen system.
I am still awaiting local pricing from the Philippines distributor.

Ultimately, the KLEVV BOLT XR is a nice set of RAM and works quite well for non-RGB or professional setups. In the picture above you can see the KLEVV BOLT XR complimenting our ASUS ProArt Z490 Creator 10G motherboard and NVIDIA RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card but regardless if you’re board is all blinged out, the subdued design with no jaged edges makes it an ideal option for a subtle yet powerful build.
ESSENCORE backs the KLEVV Bolt XR with a limited lifetime warranty. I give it my B2G Recommended Seal!
