The language of the keyboard that you have bought is shown at the right side. Take note that the number of keys in the keyboard are different for each language.
Out back, you’ll see a top shot of the K10 with labels that perfectly describe each feature of the keyboard. On the left are a more detailed explanation of the keyboards features and specs.
I-Rocks Rock Series K10 USB Gaming Keyboard
The K10 has 104 keys for thew US language version. Its length is about the same with normal keyboards, which is good since it doesn’t take up a lot of space. The LED color lighting is green, which matches the Rock Series theme. As an added bonus, the words “i-rocks” are also present on the space bar, complete with LED lighting. At the side, instead of the normal 3 indicators for the num lock, caps lock and scroll lock, there is also an added indicator that lights up when you disable the windows buttons.
The PBT keycap design is very durable and enables the K10 to endure 20 million strokes, and the best part is that is does not matter how hard the user presses each key, it will still have the same quality for you to enjoy.
When you remove one of the keycaps, you can see what makes the K10 different from other membrane keyboards. The K10 has special POM plunger keys that give the K10 a “Tactile Touch” that you would normally feel from Mechanical Keyboards. Normal membrane keyboard only have normal rubber after the housing plate that hits the membrane switch that, if pressed hard enough, can cause the key to not respond. The K10’s switches are designed with the plunger designed as the switch that is guided by the housing frame, that afterwards hits a special rubber that softens the hit to the membrane. To further ensure the endurance of the K10, underneath the membrane is a support plate that shields the case.
The design of the K10 is that of a step sculture, which basically the top part of the keyboard is higher and gradually goes down, which is great for ease of typing.
Around the keyboard is a red, rubberized substance that helps hold the keyboard in place. Also makes for a nice touch.
Down below, you can see where the keyboard’s cable is connected. To prevent the cables from being messy, I-Rocks has conveniently created a small chasm for the cable to fit in. Also, there are for rubber bases that help keep the K10 in its place. If your not satisifed with how high the K10 is, there are two small stands that sets it even higher.
One thing to note is that, although the K10 is a bit heavy, its still not a mechanical keyboard and still lacks the quick response that they have. It also does not have any USB ports.
User Experience
While playing League of Legends using the K10, I noticed that it has a quick response time for a membrane keyboard. The POM plunger keys really help my precision in landing skill shots at the right time. When typing, I can also feel a bit of Mechanical Keyboards in them, in which it gives a nice experience and makes typing a lot easier for me, to the point that I can type a lot easier with this than with a Cherry MX Red Switch.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a keyboard that is easy to use and want the feel of a Mechanical Keyboard, but don’t have the budget that comes with them, then the I-Rocks Rock Series USB Gaming Keyboard is for you. Its great to use for typing, thanks to its Tactile Touch and POM Plunger switches that is not very sensitive, yet not that hard to activate. Even though it lacks a lot of things, such as a software that could help record macros and extra USB ports, its one keyboard that would fit a lot people style and budget. Highly Recommended.
