Gaming Smartphones You Should Try Out In 2023

A White Cell Phone

Mobile gaming has massively evolved since the days of Snake and even the Candy Crush saga. Nowadays, developers have introduced numerous powerful gaming devices with speedy processors, high refresh rate displays, and more than enough RAM coupled with trigger buttons and other impressive features. If you’re serious about enhancing your mobile gaming experience, you may want to try out the following five models.

Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro

If there’s one smartphone with stellar performance, a speedy processor, and extended battery life, that’s the Asus ROG 6 Pro. This Android phone was built with gamers in mind. With a whopping 16GB of RAM (the same as in a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X) and a 165Hz refresh rate on a 6.78-inch AMOLED display packed with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, you’re guaranteed a superior gaming experience. All that high-tech does come with a high price tag though. And, while the device has stopped this and many other gaming smartphone lists, it might soon be displaced by the recently released Asus ROG Phone 7.

iPhone 14 Pro Max

Until the new generation lands later this year, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best iOS gaming smartphone in the market. With an A16 Bionic processor and a 120Hz refresh rate display, it elevates games like  Apple Arcade’s Sayonara Wildhearts, Call of Duty Mobile, and Book of Ra Deluxe among others. You also get a huge 1TB of storage to carry a whole library catalog of mobile games in your pocket without any hassle. You won’t have to worry about battery life either as the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s battery will let you play seamlessly for longer sessions.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

With a 6.8 inches display and an excellent resolution of 3088×1440 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra beats several other phones in the market. Samsung is notorious for gamer-friendly devices and this one is no exception. You’ll get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM. A cheaper option is the Samsung Galaxy S23+, which still provides great gaming performance with a great display and battery life.

Black Shark 5 Pro

Xiaomi’s Shark 5 Pro is packed with everything necessary for a superior mobile gaming experience. You’ll get a fast, responsive 144 Hz display,  a 1080  pixels resolution, and super fast charging times. What distinguishes Black Shark 5 Pro from others is its magnetic triggers that pop up from the phone’s body to provide you with a traditional controller experience, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories. While not by any means cheap, it is more affordable than some of the previously mentioned options.

Poco F4 GT

Compared to the models mentioned above, the Poco F4 GT is on the cheaper side of gaming smartphones. Even so, it comes with top-notch hardware that includes a 6.67 inches AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 12GB of RAM. While it comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a lower display resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, the Poco F4 GT smartphone is still pretty powerful and capable of making your favorite games shine.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro

This is another reasonably priced smartphone to meet your gaming needs. The Xiaomi 12T Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and is packed with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1220×2712 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Not to mention a 12GB of RAM and a fair battery life. However, gaming will make the battery decrease quickly and you might have to tweak the device a bit to get smooth graphics.

Wrapping up

The Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Black Shark 5 Pro, Poco F4 GT, and Xiaomi 12T Pro, are some of the best gaming phones you can find in the market. If you’re fully invested in the mobile gaming world, investing in these devices will be worth your cash.
