CLOSER LOOK
Palit utilizes a gold and black box for its Jetstream line packaging. That bling is sure to catch some attention in the display shelves. The front is clean with few marketing and the back of the packaging has details in multiple languages. The front flap folds out allowing a peak inside. The package contains minimal inclusion save for an installation disc, a power connector, and a DVI/VGA adapter.
As we’ve stated before, Palit has done some cosmetic revisions to its Jetstream cooler. For the most part, it still resembles the old tri-fan Jetstream cooler of the GTX680 Jetstream but now features a flatter look with less gold. The central fan now looks like a taiko drum with studs lining the corners.
Display options include Dual-link DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI.
Taking the cooling solution apart, we can see a good shot of the GK104 silicon. We mentioned Palit using an improved heatsink on the Jetstream cooler and here we can see the usage of a copper-plate on in cotact with the GPU die. With temps playing a more integral role in the GPU Boost 2.0 implementation, we hope this improvement does well.
The card takes up quite some space with overall length sitting at around 12 inches although the PCB itself is just 10inch in length. The cooler occupies that space and is also about a few millimeter longer than the standard dual-slot so multi-card setup with this version might be difficult if your motherboard don’t have ample spacing between PCI-E slots.
