The actual content, though, begins with featuring a struggling Jean trying to survive. And he does, thanks to the help of Marco and the gang.

How about Eren? Well, the stone is finally up and moving, thankfully.
With the stone moving, the soldiers now all move out to: a. protect Eren and b. lure the titans away.
But yeah, b is a pretty suicidal plan, hence, lots-o-death.
After much deaths, drama and all that though, the hole in the gate finally gets blocked. I repeat. THE HOLE IS NOW BLOCKED! AFTER ABOUT NINE EPISODES!
Pixis quickly orders the withdraw signal, given that there are still titans lurking around. But have no fear, the Recon squad arrives, led by the baddest soldier they have: Levi.
And thus the aftermath of the defense of Trost: Lots of soldiers dead; Trost retaken; titan captives for research;
Marco dead;
Random crystal puke of a titan;
And Eren in prison being interviewed by the leaders of the Recon squad.
The interview is simple. What do you intend to do now Eren? The answer is simpler. Kill titans. And thus, Eren gets admitted in the Recon squad, with Levi vouching that he’d take care (i.e. kill) Eren in case he loses himself.
And thus, we begin the next arc~ which is not in the next episode, I hear. Episode 13.5 is the mother of all recap episode… Yes. More recap. We’ll skip that one.
