realme has been on a roll as of late and with the new season of MPL rolling in, the company has been heavily drumming up its new smartphone release, the realme C3. The realme is the world’s first phone to feature MediaTek’s Helio G70 12nm 8-core processor and is touted as an entry-level gaming chipset. Under the realme C series label, the realme C3 will be part of the company’s entry-level offerings which offers a very affordable entry point in the current-gen of mobile phones. Local prices for the Philippine market has not been revealed but things are looking quite endearing if and should the performance be up to far to the growing demands of modern mobile gamers in the Philippines.
[letsinfoup]Not officially launched yet in the Philippines, realme is drumming up the hype for the C3 with plenty of media and personalities receiving pre-launch samples of the unit for testing. We’d like to thank realme for sending a unit our way. We’re looking to provide a pure, performance-based reviews for the realme C3 but for now let’s take our first, hands-on look at the realme C3.

Packaging and Content

Done in the signature realme yellow and prints, the realme C3 is packaged in a simple box with nothing special in the external packaging.

Inside the box we have the realme C3 smartphone, a microUSB cable, a USB charging brick, a SIM card tray tool, and a couple of documentations. It’s worth noting there’s no headphones or phone case included in the package. realme notes that there is a screen protect film included but not in the box but the phone itself has a layer on the screen so we’re assuming its that.

Closer Look

realme will release the C3 in the Philippines in 2 color variants: Blazing Red and Frozen Blue. Our sample is the Blazing Red variant.

There’s an obvious bezel in the front and a chin on the phone. Depending on how you feel about this, it can make or break the phone but with the assumed pricing of this phone, the market may not be as selective as most of us.

realme markets the C3 that uses a Sunrise design with the back the most evident testament to this design. The phone is made of rigid plastic and the matte design on the back features a subtle brushed tooling which I personally appreciate way better than smooth glass backings.

With smartphones now coming in larger sizes, realme’s C3 features a flagship size 6.5-inch display.

The C3 features bottom-firing speakers with a microUSB slot and still retains a headphone jack.

The rear camera is placed on the upper right of the phone which comprises of a triple camera setup. A 12MP primary camera, 2MP portrait camera and a 2MP macro. Its really nothing special but with the variety of lens options, it is enough to satisfy its target market especially for social media posting.
We currently have two test videos for our launch reviews while we work on few more games to include in our testing. For now, maxed out Mobile Legends and maxed out NBA 2K20 are highly playable on decent framerates on the realme C3.ย We’re currently not allowed to share gaming performance but our experience on the realme C3 while gaming is quite surprisingly smooth.
Assuming the phone drops below Php6,000, it will certainly be a top choice for anyone looking to game at a budget phone. A large screen with decent framerates on a large 5,000mAh battery, the realme C3 is shaping up to be an impressive release for realme.
