Introduction
We’re back with another keycap set from TheKapCo and this time, it’s the Geisha 2.0 set from their Okiya 2.0 collection. They also have a selection of various color swaths suitable for builds with an overall darker shade. You have the option to get the keycap plus an oversized mousemat that partners well with the keycap set that you purchase.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The coloring on the keycaps immediately give off that Cyberpunk theme which perfectly accentuates any RGB-laden keyboards. A fresh take on keycap design blends translucent sides and a PBT part on top of the keycap; coloring on the keycaps immediately give off that Cyberpunk theme which, when combined with the 3-sided clear wall of the keycap, perfectly accentuates any RGB-laden keyboards for maximum shine!

Build Quality, Design, and Aesthetics
The keycap set is made by a fusion of durable and substance-resistant PBT material, where the English legends and Japanese sublegends are dye-sub printed, and ABS material for the translucent sides for RGB to shine-through. My best guess as to why the English legends are somehow small might have to do with the limited space of the keycap. to double takes if you’re a visual typer.

Mentioned previously, PBT plastic top the keycaps, this kind of plastic material is resistant to wear comparing it with ABS plastic and it also gives the Geisha 2.0 set a matte feel and sheen. Expect that these keycaps can take a bit of a beating before you see any shining from use. Want to clean it? ensure that the only thing that will be used to clean this is a damp cloth!

Colorway of these keycaps are neon – sharp and loud but immediately toned down by the Alpha’s pre-dominantly black structure. A major number of mainstream keyboards use black or darker colors that will pair well with the Geisha 2.0 keycap set. Just remember to turn on the keyboard RGB and turn off the lights for maximum glow!

Moving on to the different and interesting prints on the set. For the left modifiers a print of a dolled-up geisha can be found on the Tab, Caps Lock. Shift, Control, and Alt. On the right modifiers, you get a close-up shot of the robotic geisha’s face on the backspace and enter keys. I presume that those are thighs (?) on the right shift key.
They also have extra keys if you’re going to mount it on uncommon keyboard layouts like 98%, 75%, and 65% boards as well as an extra spacebar if you want to switch things up. More on compatibility later.

A thing to note on the keycaps set, The KapCo has done something to help out new people in this hobby. They’ve printed the row numbers and how long/unit (ex: 1U, 2.25U, 2.75U) on the inside of the keycaps! This helps guide people on where to put the keycaps in their keyboard.

Typing Experience
Majority of the keycaps that The KapCo has on their lineup are based off on the widely adapted Cherry Profile. This gives the Geisha 2.0 a comfortable typing feel that doesn’t strain your hands when resting on the keycaps or when you’re trying to reach other keys. Paired with the nice PBT texture and you got something pleasant to touch for hours on end. Do note that the heights of these keycaps differ from one another so make sure that you put the keycaps in its correct row.

Compatibility
With 126 keys inside the box, the Geisha 2.0 keycap set can be used on common layouts like full-sized, ten-key less (TKL), or even 60%/65% keyboards! 75% keyboards? It does fit that too!
A thing to note for people who might use this on their 96% keyboard, the set can be used on it although you may have to remap some keys on the assigned function on the keycap. Peep the photos below this to see it mounted on the boards!

Final Thoughts
The Geisha 2.0 Keycap Set from The KapCo is a great primary or secondary keycap set for a collector or for someone who’s just dipping their toes on keyboard customization for the first time! From its innovative 3-sided shine-through design up to a great build quality, TheKapCo’s Geisha 2.0 set has the potential to go toe to toe with more established keycap manufacturers.
Price for the set is fair (100 USD ), since you’re getting a 126-key keycap set that has a lot of character, innovative construction for max RGB, and can definitely last for another keyboard build should you get another one. Comparable keycap sets that are full PBT would also play at this price range but those sets won’t really let your keyboard’s RGB shine through.
If RGB and a sharp and shouty keyboard is what you want, the Geisha 2.0 keycap set makes it a great option for customization and should be your next buy.
