Synopsis
Kimito is a normal high school student. That is, until several muscular men abduct him and shove their groins at him.
They bring him to an all-girls school where a maid is awaiting him. The maid explains to him that this school is a top-secret school for high class women, where they are taught to be the purest of pures. But there’s just one major problem: They have no idea how to cope with the real world, much less the opposite sex.
And that’s where Kimito comes in. He’s essentially the “commoner” sample for the school. By adding one commoner in the school, a male one at that, the school administration wants to expose the girls to the real world via a controlled setting.
Why Kimito, though? That’s because he is, by all accounts, a totally average dude. Oh, also, because his childhood friend said that he is gay and has a fetish for muscular men.
It’s totally a lie, but if Kimito admits that it is not true, he would be forced to either disappear or be castrated. So yeah, he’s totally gay with a muscle fetish for all intents and purposes.
So here begins Kimito’s life as the gay best friend of hundreds of girls curious about the common life.
Review
The calling card of the show comes in two forms: Humor and fanservice. As far as humor goes, it comes either in the variant of the absurdity of the ignorance of the girls, or in the variant of Kimito needing to declare his muscle fetish. The former is a hit or miss thing. Some scenes are genuinely funny, like how the blonde girl returns Kimito’s phone with a letter and gift. But some scenes are also annoying, like the various things the background characters say. As far as the gay jokes are concerned, they’re funny enough in small dosages, and the show does well enough not to keep rehashing them. I just wonder if actual homosexuals find this offensive.
As for the fanservice, surprisingly, the show doesn’t throw anything in your face. Which is kind of a good thing, since there MIGHT be something in the show aside from blatant fanservice. But then, next episode’s preview promises blatant fanservice, so I don’t know. Maybe it’s just a one episode thing.
There is a small small chance that the show might have some depth, if Kimito manages to actually be an amateur counselor to the problems of the heroines. But that’s like just wishful thinking on my part.
Waifu Index
The problem with shows like this is that there are too many girls to keep track of so it’s hard for someone to stand out and be THE waifu. I do like the blonde girl though.
