Ocypus Brand Makes In-Roads in PC Market Starting in SEA

Ocypus Brand Makes In-Roads In Pc Market Starting In Sea

Case and cooling has been an easy market to get into the PC industry. Big component makers to memory makers are now dabbling in this space and that’s very good for consumers. More options equals more competition which leads to innovation which ultimately benefits us all, buyers and makers alike. They still need to start somewhere and that’s always an uphill climb.

We’ve recently seen the brand Ocypus appear in our feeds on social media and fellow press have also asked about this company. They’re curiously focusing their immediate start in SEA, primarily in the Philippines but their other presence is their global page and their Indonesia pages in Facebook. That said, the local distributor has already posted Ocypus products so its not far off that they’d reach end-users especially during this 11.11 Sale as well as potentially Black Friday.

We requested comments from their brand rep as the company prepares to market into more territories and we asked them a couple of questions regarding the direction of the company and their short-terms goals.

Who is Ocypus

Started late 2023 in Shenzhen and HQ’d at Beijing, Ocypus is rooted in a “geeky DNA”, boasting a deep passion for computer hardware. They claim to blend “technology and aesthetics”, and hopes to create the ideal products for gamers, focusing on high-quality cases, coolers, and other essential components.

Ocypus’s philosophy revolves around its “Infinite Passion” mantra for their products that they state is something that resonates with gamers. The brand puts emphasis on direct communication with the gaming community to understand their real needs, ensuring every product has a form of authenticity and enthusiasm. According to the brand rep we spoke to, Ocypus aims to become a top-tier designer brand that delivers not only performance but also a refined visual experience.

Aesthetic and Functional Design

I found out about Ocypus from an industry colleague but never paid any mind until they showed up on my feed. During a launch event, the local distributor for Ocypus revealed some details about the company and noted to keep in mind of the brand if they decide to pursue the local market. I didn’t have to wait long as Ocypus initiated contact first hence this article.

Just a Facebook post of Ocypus PH’ arrival

One of the defining characteristics of Ocypus is its minimalist design philosophy and its obvious from their initial offering. From minimal coolers to minimal aquarium-style chassis, the company has yet to find its unifying design but for now their design choices are, personally, going in the right direction.

The brand sees itself as developing “clean, simple, and timeless” products that are visually appealing over time(?). Eschewing complex, trend-driven aesthetics, Ocypus current product listings are designed to maintain their appeal, combining simplicity with thoughtful  detail on user-experience. Again, based on their current line-up, this yet to be seen as they still need to find their footing and that sense of “clean, simple, and timeless” has yet to form.

Global Ambitions and Market Positioning

Though Ocypus is just beginning its journey in the Philippines and other select regions, the brand’s aspirations are global. The company aims to make its mark worldwide, particularly in the cases, coolers, and power supply sectors. With ambitions to become a recognizable name across major markets, Ocypus sees a future where customers turn to their products as a trusted option in high-performance PC hardware meaning they either have excellent brand reputation or they earn enough creds in either quality or premiumness that they sit on either extreme. The ultimate goal, according to their brand representative, is to secure a leading position among established brands, cementing Ocypus as a go-to choice for quality and design.

What’s Next for Ocypus?

Ocypus is positioning itself as a brand to watch in the coming years. As they continue to grow, we can expect to see Ocypus gain traction not only in Southeast Asia but on the global market as well. We’ll just have to see how they grow from here.

Ocypus brings a promising new perspective to the PC hardware landscape, combining a timeless design ethos with ambitions of world-class performance. Keep an eye on Ocypus as they expand, offering products that promise durability, style, and excellence.
