There is a whole world of fantastic games waiting for your attention, and some of them slip right under the radar, this has to stop and although it can get incredibly addictive trying to get a higher score in Crossy Road or trying to finally conquer the world in Clash of Clans, it’s never too late to fire up those mobile devices to try something a little different.
It really isn’t that easy for mobile games publishers as they have to take extreme care when acquiring new users as many do not buy a thing. It has been reported that only 0.19% of all players actually contribute 48% of revenue. Those that spent money (64%) on games only buy once a month. The news is not all bad though as the total volume of spending has increased and the popularity of mobile games also continues to grow.
Whether flying down snowy slopes, pulling plenty of tricks on the way in Snowboard Party 2, or guiding a pixelated protagonist through different levels in Downwell (which was a serious contender for the best mobile game of the year back in 2015) the choice is yours. Sage Solitaire is another gem and very addictive as is the long list of bingo sites and other gambling related games you can play on your mobile devices, the games are endless and promise a different experience and entertainment value.
Of course as the technology advances so do the games that are available to your mobile devices. Nintendo have recently entered into mobile gaming with their very first app. Launching in Japan the ‘Miitomo’ app features characters called Miis which can be customised. Using smartphone cameras the avatars can be created and then outfitted with virtual fashions. The app is scheduled for the US and other markets later on this year although the release date has yet to be set in stone by Nintendo.
Other Mobile Games to Look-out for Iiclude:
- Race the Sun (Platform iOS) is high paced flying game through geometrical fields requires patience but is highly satisfying to play.
- Galactic Keep (Platform iOS) is a brilliant RPG and condenses much that we love, killing the baddies, collecting cool stuff and becoming totally involved with the story as your character evolves.
- Hopiko (Platform iOS and Android) is new blood and challenges you to get your character from platform to platform which includes some split-second choices. This game will frustrate you no end and is addictive to play.
Gaming has never been so enjoyable and with the promise of even better graphics, audio and video clips to enhance the time we spend gaming on our mobiles who knows where it will all end? One thing for sure is that mobile gaming is here to stay and is actually building up a cult following.
