I’ve recently been inducted by a friend to try out this new Trading Card Game that has taken the local TCG scene by storm, Bushiroad’s Cardfight!! Vanguard. I’ve actually seen booths during cons of the game before that fateful December night but I just ignored them since the only TCG I actually invested on was Pokemon. And, that was years ago (during the Gen1 days).

So I was instantly hooked since the gameplay’s pretty simple. I wouldn’t bore you with the details of the game mechanics cause you can just visit it on this link. Ifรย you don’t like to read through tons of text, or at least you’d rather see it in action, you can view it on the official Vanguard Youtube channel (yes, Bushiroad streams the dubbed anime FOR FREE, in fact, I actually like the quality of the dub). Unlessรย you don’t have access to Animax. Be warned though, the anime itself is geared to sell the cards so expect people to name drop booster packs as the story progresses.
I’ve been a CFV player for about 2 months now and I must say that it feels good to be in a thriving community. I’ve participated in various Sanctioned tournaments and casuals in the various establishments (Courtside Galleria, Neutal Grounds G2, Centris) that host such events. I love how the community and the game is newbie friendly and kids are often participating in the aforementioned events itself.

This card game actually is the main culprit why I haven’t been posting much lately- since I am knee-deep in researching the various clans and strategies against them. In fact I’ve switched from my original clan (Kagero) to the clan the protagonist of the anime is using, Royal Paldain (or at least, USED to).
So yeah, that’s that – If you want to know more about the game, here’s the official Bushiroad Cardfight!! Vanguard website.
