So I finally got to try the ME3 Demo a day after its release. That was a whopping 1.7GB download and it took me one whole night to finish it. My initial response wasn’t a jump up and down excitement, I was just eager. I was so anxious about how it’ll play and what I would find. Though I didn’t really think BioWare would do anything drastic with the system (like how they did with DA2, yes I’m bitter)
I thought the demo wouldn’t let us choose the game mode or make us customize our characters. I was glad that it made me do both. When the news of the game mode came out, I thought it to be a little sketchy. “Story”? What the fuck does that mean? Anything other than this would not give me the full, chunk of the story?
After reading through the descriptions, it was a bit clearer. Action would cut through some of the story to make way for well, more action. Story would crank the difficulty down a bit. And Role Playing is putting on a sexy librarian outfit while my boyfriend cuffs me to– wait.
Of course I chose Role Playing. It’s good that they put in “Traditional Mass Effect experience” Though it would make you feel like a prude, it’s also very understandable.
So on to everyone’s favorite (and possibly dreaded) part: Character Creation. I chose FemShep.
I was surprised at the Default Appearance for FemShep. I mean I love what they did about FemShep with the promotions and giving her a chance in the spotlight and everything but… WOAH. I don’t know, she’s pretty and all yes but she looks a bit… moe. Must be the huge eyes. I love the details but… I can’t play her. She freaks me out a little.
I was happy to see my hair color. Haha. Super deep red yay! Got that and made her look like this. I noticed that they took out the intensity controls, not sure if that’s because this is a demo but either way works fine. Less options makes my life easier. I’m not completely anal about how she looks like.
Ruthless Earthborn Vanguard. Always always always. My Shepard has anger management issues that, contrary to popular belief, does not stem from sexism. She’s just angry. Doesn’t matter how you treat her.
When the game comes out, my FemShep would most likely still look like this, with only a few tweaks. What say you we’re all gonna have the same looking custom female Shepard? I bet you we will.
