Today’s little story is about fanbases and unpopular opinions.
Once upon a time, about a few days ago, there is a little forum thread that involves someone who is not happy with what video games he is playing.  In fact, he found out that the contents in the certain game he is playing was offending him dearly. So one day, he opened his computer, go to the forum where the games were published… and told them how much the content offends him so.
“Boycott” is too strong a word to express his desires of something well-written and well-contented…
The reaction ranges deeply from unbridled rage knowing that someone is not pleased with the games they fap to everynight  to “SUPPORT!” but less of the boycott.
Though one man is in rage so much, he had to do a very stupid, terrible thing. He posted the unpleased OP’s PERSONAL INFORMATION and derailed and insulted the man. Many people think that this is justice because someone is trying to destroy the people BEHIND the video game company. Many people think it’s slander because someone is just speaking up and they are just bringing the original poster down. Currently, the forum thread is deleted though the rebellion still goes on.
But here’s the thing. I can understand serious debates and criticisms if they can be civil, but pushing too hard as to insult a person just because he connects to something that is important to him and yet ends up losing that feeling as time passes by because the theme just cops itself out? Everyone has a different opinion, yes, but that does not mean that you can shove your own “canon” down someone’s throat because the unpopular opinion is “wrong.” or ignore and treat the person as scum of the earth. Fandoms are like that sometimes… when some people will disprove and mock your thoughts and headcanons because it’s “not in the canon?”  It makes the fans actually terrible because of that type of treatment. You can ignore what you want, but the fans are as much wrong as the critic because of such.
What do you guys think? and Do you have Fandoms that are this narrow-minded? Comment Section is Below.
I have another story about Thane Krios fans who never gave up seeking romantic justice in the gaming world for serious mishandling of his character and his romance in Mass Effect 3, but that is for another day. Or time. Or I’m just only posting here because I’m raging that a certain fanbase is not open-minded with criticism (very harsh criticism, but whatever.) that it lead to posting SOMEONE’S personal information and derailing that person because of it.
Fandom, I AM DISSAPPOINT.
Isn’t this what happens when you give retards access to the internet?
…most likely. XD
