The Growing Arabic Esports Industry In Bahrain

The gaming community is growing fast due to the pandemic and frequent lockdowns all across the world. However, it seems that certain regions are expanding the local gaming industry quicker than others. That is the case of the MENA region, which is gaining the attention of the largest gaming markets worldwide. With its 336 million gamers all across the Middle East countries, the local gaming community reaches a growth of 25% each year. According to market experts, if the gaming industry in the MENA region maintains this level of expansion, it will soon surpass other countries like the USA and China.

The Online Gaming Market In Bahrain

The gaming market in Bahrain is taking advantage of the currently growing trends more than other MENA countries. Dedicated gaming policies are also contributing to the expansion of the online gaming field in this country.

In particular, Bahrain’s gamers appreciate a variety of digital games ranging from eSports to casino games. Blackjack online is one of the most chosen casino games all across Bahrain for several reasons. First of all, blackjack is available in live tournaments; it consists of several new variants; it allows gamblers to win big casino rewards. As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to pick a blackjack game online and start a breath-taking casino venture, especially when you can’t go to a physical venue.

There’s also another factor to explain the rapid nonstop growth of the gaming market in Bahrain. The kingdom of Bahrian is investing in different sources and industries than hydrocarbons, and the gaming industry turns out to be a profitable marketplace.

Bahrain Focusing On eSports

The Growing Arabic Esports Industry In Bahrain

In recent times, Bahrain’s gaming market has been eSports-oriented. This market trend is continuing at the present day expected to generate abundant revenues for the investors. Some of the latest eSports events were supported and powered by private and public partnerships like The IGN Convention, the DreamLand Expo, and the BLAST Pro Series Global Final.

Thanks to the launch and diffusion of eSports events across the population, the kingdom is also pleased to see new talented gamers emerging year after year. It is a point of pride for the country that will have young and motivated gamers performing in international eSports tournaments. Bahrain can currently boast 14 eSports players who gained the nation position number 89 in the world.

Some of the most popular eSports players from other countries of the MENA region include Amer Al-Barkawi (known as “Miracle”) from Jordan: he won $4.8 million in real-money rewards. Another great player is Maroun Merhej (called “GH”) from Lebanon, who made $4.2 million in eSports tournaments.

Overview Of The Gaming Market’s Growth In Bahrain

You may wonder why Bahrain, along with other MENA countries, focuses on the online gaming sector instead of investing in different industries. There are several reasons to explain this choice.

First of all, the online gaming sector looks impressively dynamic, ever-evolving, and diversified. In terms of commercial opportunities, it reveals that the gaming market accounts for a very high percentage of users. Moreover, the growth of the gaming industry is closely related to the diffusion of mobiles all across the population. The more mobile devices in use, the more users accessing gaming platforms.

Rami Jamal, CEO of Piercer Esports in Bahrain, says that the kingdom has the fastest-growing independent team in the entire region. Piercer is one of the top five teams basing on the number of victories in 2021, of which one was at the Legion Gaming Festival Championship in June.

The forerunner establishment of Dubai-based W Venture, a dedicated venue to gaming and eSports events, clearly shows that the gaming industry is the way to go. Following this example, new stadiums have been built in the region to host national and international tournaments.

What’s Behind Bahrain’s Expanding Online Gaming Market?

Over the past years, the gaming community in Bahrain has been gaining new viewers, gamers, and streamers. This growth reflects a 150% increase in videos, content, live tournaments generated at high speed on social gaming platforms.

However, there’s a difference between the online gaming market in Bahrain and the one in countries like China or South Korea. While South-Eastern countries dominate the eSports and digital gaming industry in terms of revenue, Bahrain keeps growing in the same industry in terms of its innovative and forward-thinking approach.
The attitude and vision in the gaming panorama of Bahrain’s game developers, investors, and gamers are what makes the kingdom emerge on the international horizon, a significant trend expected to continue in the future years from now.
