Are Tablets Better Than Smartphones For Gaming?

BossMac SubaBy BossMac SubaSeptember 3, 20211 Comment4 Mins Read

It used to be the case that those who wanted to engage in gaming were stuck to a physical desktop. Laptops could barely keep up, tablets were brand new, and even smartphones didn’t have the capabilities that they do today. However, in today’s current environment, all of that has changed. Laptops are just as fast if not faster than certain desktops, and smartphones and tablets have the same capacities built into them as comparable laptops.

Smartphone or tablet for gaming

When it comes to deciding between a smartphone or a tablet, you have to consider what you prefer. Smartphones make for a wonderful device for gaming simply because so many people have them so people can rely on the device they already have without having to invest in something else. However, tablets are quickly offering a better gaming experience as manufacturers start to create tablets comparable to laptops in terms of memory, speed, and function.

You have to consider:

  1. Screen size
  2. Power
  3. Battery life

Screen Size

Gaming relies pretty heavily on screen size. For games that include a lot of different actions at once, games like Minecraft for example, the bigger the screen, arguably the better the experience simply because you can keep track of more than one thing at a time in a grander fashion rather than having to squint at your screen.

In addition, high-quality graphics and colors will better display what’s happening in a game where you are fighting, moving through levels, and constantly fighting for tools or achievements. Tablets obviously have bigger screens but this does come down to personal preference and what types of games you are playing.

People who are playing casino games or crossword puzzles or other simple games don’t necessarily need a bigger screen because they can more easily just move the screen around on the mobile device whereas those who are playing very intense especially multiplayer games need a bigger screen to see everything that’s happening all at once.

Power and Play

The power behind a device and the types of games played are going to be a key consideration for anyone. If you want to play a top game like Fortnite, you need a lot of extra horsepower behind your device whereas other games, based on an internet connection, don’t necessarily need as powerful a tool.

Tablets typically have a much bigger screen size which matters because that simply means there’s more physical space into which Hardware can be packed. A lot of mobile games will struggle to operate properly if they are played on a low-power device. Free casino games can be easily played on a phone for people who don’t have a heftier gadget but more popular video games like mobile versions of PUBG require a device that has a lot of extra power under the hood and more importantly can cool itself throughout the course of your gameplay so it doesn’t overheat.

Battery and Longevity

When evaluating tablets versusย Smartphones, you have to consider the battery life. People who are working with games on the go need something they can use while sitting on the train on their way to work or waiting for a doctor’s appointment, require a longer battery life not just so they can play more games more often but so that the playing of games online doesn’t drain the battery so that phone calls can’t be made. Conversely, people who play primarily at home but don’t want to be tied to their home office in their free time might not need to worry as much about battery life if they have an outlet nearby.

Australians Prefer Smartphones for Gaming

Of course, not everyone is the same. Recent data confirms that Australians prefer smartphones for gaming in spite of these considerations. Theย best mobile devices for gamingย are quickly able to keep up with higher battery life and less power consumption compared to a tablet. For this reason, Australians are finding that being able to play games on the go is easily achieved with the power and longevity provided by smartphones. Newer smartphones are quickly growing in size not just in terms of things like batteries but the physical size of the screen which makes them now more comparable to the traditionally larger screens of a laptop or a tablet adding to the list of 90 reasons why Australians are turning to smartphones for their gaming needs.
