Welcome to our 1st system guide for multiple builds. Our past system guides usually cover the tight budget range which is PhP 15,000 to PhP 20,000. The budget range was widened so our readers can see what they need if they want a gaming experience better than what a entry-level PC could offer and we also took the opportunity to introduce a gaming build on a small form factor. New games are more demanding now so we upgraded the specs of our entry-level build. Recommendations on how to further optimize each build are also included in case your budget doesn’t fall into any of the budget categories shown below. Take note that the builds in this system guide do not include monitors and we have a separate gaming monitor guide which you can read here.
Just some REMINDERS:
- The prices are based on the item listing of Dyna Quest, PC Express, and PC Hub. Price may change without prior notice so call the store to verify the updated price on your chosen day of purchase.
- The builds put emphasis on gaming performance.
- For instructions on how to assemble the PC, check this guide then go to “INSTALLATION PROPER”.

On A Tight Budget
We looked for ways to make this budget build possible at PhP 20,000 but GeForce GTX 1050 Ti paired with Core i3 6100 is now the minimum we would recommend for anyone who wants to play the latest games at 1080p with high detail. Do not worry about CPU bottleneck because the Core i3 6100 will suffice for GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. If you still cannot afford this build, we do not recommend downgrading any of the components. Be patient and make your money grow the easy way.

Willing to Spend More
This build is what we consider the happy medium between price and performance. You can use maximum settings at 1080p and still have a pleasant gaming experience. Consistent 60 FPS on 1080p is possible if you tweak some of the image quality settings. Another great thing about this build is you can pair an affordable Free Sync monitor like the LG 23MP68VQ to eliminate screen-tearing without having to use V-Sync.

I Want 1080p @ 60+ FPS
GeForce GTX 1070 for 1080p? Typo-error? For us, smoothness of game play is more important than higher resolution. We’ll take 1080p @ 100 FPS over 1440p @ 60 FPS any day. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that anything above 60 FPS cannot be seen by the human eye. Once you experience the increased fluidity of 100 FPS or higher, you’ll never go back to 60 FPS.

Small but Powerful
If you want a gaming PC excellent for 1080p resolution, takes little space and is easy to transport, you should definitely consider this build. To give you an idea on how small the build is, the size of the Fractal Design Node 202 is comparable to the size of XBox One. The case used in this build can accommodate long graphics cards up to 310 mm in length which means you’ll have no problems converting this build into a gaming machine for 1440p resolution.

What about the new CPU’s in 2017?
We already have done some initial tests comparing Core i7 6700K and Core i7 7700K and our results confirm what other review sites have already found. There is nothing exciting about Kaby Lake in terms of performance. If you want or need an Intel-based system right now, just buy a Skylake CPU. Yes, Kaby Lake draws slightly less power but it’s not like it will reduce your electric bill significantly especially if your gaming PC only accounts for a small portion of your house’s total electric bill.
Things are a little bit complicated with AMD Ryzen. Recently, AMD demonstrated their new 8-core CPU against Intel Core i7 6900K (fast forward the video to 31:06) and it seems we can now finally see a serious competition in the desktop CPU market. However, we still don’t know the exact prices of the new CPU line-up and there is still no definite release date. Also, you have to consider that the GPU is still the major component that will dictate the kind of gaming performance you’ll get. The current Intel Skylake CPU’s are already fast enough to drive the current GPU’s to their maximum potential. The real benefit of AMD Ryzen CPU for gamers is the possible price cut on current Intel Skylake CPU’s and on the upcoming Intel Kaby Lake CPU’s.

“I Want 1080p @ 60+ FPS” it should be noted that 100hz-144hz monitor should be included, if the monitor can only output 60hz the excess frames drawn by the gpu wil be wasted and therefore useless imho. Also i think i5 6500 can utilize and not bottleneck 1070, in most cases games will use gpu power more than cpu as dx12 offsets the grunt works on the cpu side thus gpu provides the hardwork.
