PhP 26,000 Gaming PC Build Guide – November 2017

Pinoy Linux GamerBy Pinoy Linux GamerNovember 15, 201730 Comments4 Mins Read

With the availability of AMD Ryzen 3 processors and the outrageous increase in RAM prices, we have to update our PhP 23,000 Gaming PC Build Guide in March 2017. As usual for this budget range, gaming performance without overclocking is the priority in this guide. Tips on choosing an OS (operating system) are also included for those building their 1st gaming PC.

Just some REMINDERS:

  • The prices are based on the item listing of retailers in Metro Manila. Price may change without prior notice so call the store to verify the updated price on your day of purchase.
  • For the monitor, we recommend the ASUS VC239H as starting point since it’s a 1080p 60-Hz monitor with an IPS panel and can be had for under PhP 10,000.

Gaming Performance

We already tested NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB before and it proved to be a great budget GPU for playing the latest games at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

OS for First-time Builders

Windows 10 is actually a great OS for gaming but its price of PhP 7,299 will probably be a problem for those on a very tight budget. There are also annoying features such as forced system updates.

Php 26,000 Gaming Pc Build Guide - November 2017Gamers who do not want to deal with those nuisances can consider using Ubuntu MATE. Linux gaming has improved a lot since Valve released Steam on Linux last February 14, 2013. More high-quality games are coming to Linux every year and it made switching to Linux for gaming more viable.

Conclusion

We could have opted again for a Pentium G4560 to make the build go below PhP 25,000. But the purpose of our build guides is to make sure the end user gets the best value for the money. Intel Kaby Lake (LGA 1151) offers a cheaper initial cost but it’s a dead-end platform. The great thing with our recommended AMD Ryzen build is the upgrade path. Once more performance is needed, it can be upgraded to have a Ryzen 5 1600 paired with GeForce GTX 1070 (or its performance equivalent in the upcoming GeForce GTX 2000 series).

“Windows 10 is actually a great OS for gaming but its price of PhP 7,299” or you can purchase legal Windows 10 Pro keys for around PHP 250-350 on eBay. Naka bili na ko ng mga 5x para gawing legit lahat ng pc/laptop dito sa bahay. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sir, in your conclusion you said that “Intel Kaby Lake (LGA 1151) offers a cheaper initial cost but itโ€™s a dead-end platform.” does it mean you can’t upgrade your g4560 that is paired by GTX 1050 ti 4gb to i7-7700k and GTX 1080 ti? I don’t get it. I thought I can be able to upgrade my cpu and gpu as long as it is compatible to my motherboard, isn’t it right?
Thanks for answering. newbie here. sorry.
