After a hopeful decline in late May to July, GPU prices are now back in an upwards trends according to 3Dcenter latest pricing analysis. This is further supported by local listings also receiving sharp upward spikes in pricing after going as low as SRP during June. The report shows more significant increases on NVIDIA’s end coming up around 9% with AMD holding off the around 6%, but it should be noted that AMD’s pricing did not dip as low as NVIDIA in 3Dcenter’s price history. AMD holds an average 64% markup over SRP while NVIDIA is at 59%.
Economy signs have shown mixed signals regarding the pricing situation with the last few months suggesting a potential normalization with mining crackdowns and the eventual changes in Ethereum giving hopes to some that the market is changing. This is contradicted by statements from NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stating enduring shortages until next year and AMD facing a TSMC price hike, both of which lead towards a potential uptick in price.
