Trash talking has been present in any competitive endeavor man has ever done. Harmless to most degrees, however the same isn’t for local DotA player Barry Robledo.
According to the memorial post in the Pacific eSports website (update 01/03/2018, as of this writing the website seems to be unavailable). Barry was killed when the person he was supposed to fight with brought out a knife to the fist fight and stabbed him twice in the chest. Further details have yet to surface regarding the whereabouts of the killer and Pacific eSports has chosen not to name Robledo’s killer.
Robledo was the former team captain of Team XOXO and team BigC.
He was just 19 years old.
[UPDATE as of 4/17/2012 – 9:11 P.M. – The cause of death of Barry Robledo was not of DotA or of trash talking. As of this moment there has no news of the motive of killing. Also, it was reported that Barry Robledo was stabbed four times and not twice]
