While it was not announced in CES 2022, signs are pointing that NVIDIA is poised to release the 12GB variant of the RTX 3080. With NVIDIA preferring to stay mum on this release, it may harken back to the recent revival of the RTX 2060 with 12GB of VRAM which was a quiet release and was a straight partner launch. That said, that particular card saw the RTX 2060 sharing more with the RTX 2060 SUPER than its direct counterpart, the original RTX 2060. This could be the same with the RTX 3080 which could get a CUDA core bump together with a memory increase.
VideoCardz is sharing marketing photos of the EVGA RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 Ultra which has 12GB GDDR6X listed in the box.
