Images of the EVA-02 collection for ASUS’ ROG x EVA collaboration has leaked with images of the included items in this collection. The ROG x EVA is a cobranded project that features the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion’s titular mechs in their products. Last year’s launch featured EVA Unit 01 and its iconic purple and green colorway but only featured the mecha. This year’s surprise extension will see a surprising feature in the collection along with some new products.
UPDATE: We now have official colored shots of the collection which will be named the ROG x EVANGELION-02 collection.
The photo above shows us the included items in EVA-02 collection of the ROG x EVA project which will include the following products:
- ROG Hyperion GR701
- ROG Maximus Z790 HERO
- ROG Strix graphics card
- ROG Ryujin (II or III???) AIO cooler
- ROG Thor PSU
- ROG mice (Harpe?)
- ROG keycap set (not sure which stems)
The EVA-02 features red and orange with hits of purple and black trims so this will be a very brightly red colored set but we can’t make that out yet from the leaked image above. What we can make out is the lack of artwork featuring UNIT-02 which was the theme they went with with the original ROG x EVA Unit-01 collection. Instead they with something better:
The ROG x EVA second collection will be featuring Asuka Langley Soryu primarily instead of her Evangelion unit (Unit-02). In previous marketing partnerships with EVA, we were told to avoid making mention of the anime or the characters so it is surprising that ASUS secured the license for Asuka instead of her mecha. In the original anime, Asuka is part of the main trio together with Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami. Since then, various media have presented the story differently but one thing is constant: Asuka Langley Soryu is a stand-out character and her fans will definitely appreciate this collab release.
