Many have asked for a Kinect for PC and we’ve reported before that work was already underway to finalize the Kinect 2.0: a fully PC-compatible version of the Kinect.
This Microsoft Store listing shows the Kinect for Windows V2 retailing for $199 but more importantly it shows the availability date which is slated for July 15, 2014.
Time for those interested in a Kinect for PC to rejoice as the USB-compatible, 3D camera which also doubles as an input device. It begs the question though of other than practical motion-sensing and other optical detection application (as mentioned in the listing), will games that we can actually play with the Kinect for PC be released? Will the Kinect for Windows V2 a gaming device or a business peripheral? We’ll just have to wait for it to find out.
