A slide outlining Intel’s “Go-To-Market” plan or GTM has surfaced online which details Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake 13th-Gen key dates and how Intel may shape up leading to launch.
The dates here go as follows:
- September 15 – 28: create buzz about imminent launch
- September 28: launch announcement
- October 13: pre-order date
- October 20: retail availability
The key date here is the September 28 window which lines up with AMD’s launch for their Ryzen 7000 CPUs. AMD pushed their launch from September 15 to September 27/28 (TW) for this and this slide corroborate that information. With that in mind, reviews for Raptor Lake may become available around late September to early October, possibly using the 2-prong preview>review approach that Intel has been following this last few generations.
Intel’s 13th-gen Raptor Lake CPUs are an improvement over Alder Lake and will see an IPC increase as well as increased E-core count. Raptor Lake will be built on Intel 7 (10nm) featuring both Raptor Cove cores and increased cache sizes for the increased count of Gracemont cores.
Raptor Lake is expected to be compatible with existing LGA1700 CPUs but will be accompanied by a newer 700-series chipset.
