… and I am not even referring to our resident boss here. But yes, that’s right – Jim Sterling, through Destructroid reports that the PS Vita. Sony’s latest mobile platform has now been successfully hacked by user Yifan Lu. A Usermode Vita Loader is now on the works by the same developer and it was due to a recently discovered exploit.
Of course the topic now that the jack is out of the box is piracy. Since of course now that the homebrew is on the works and the fact that the PS Vita security system is breached (not totally but you get what I mean), people may now consider pirating Vita games. However, Yifan Lu defends that his exploit could not decrypt or load retail games, of course that remains to be seen.
Personally speaking though, with this recent development, I would think that the vita would finally get the break it’s looking for since the Vita has a terrible sales record Vita is not making it’s projected sales.
With the Christmas season coming, do you think this would make the Vita a viable Christmas gift for yourself/significant other/nephews? What do you think?
