Upcoming PlayStation 5 game Returnal has gone GOLD, according to a Twitter post by developer Housemarque.
A third-person shooter/psychological horror video game featuring roguelike elements, Returnal lets you control space pilot Selene who crash-lands on a shape-shifting world of Atropos and is stuck in a time loop. Every time she dies, she reawakens in her ship’s cockpit moments before the crash, discovering that Atropos has changes its layouts. An endless cycle where even death is no escape.
Each environment is a special location that has new creatures to encounter, more story to discover and much more. As you can see from the trailer, the Overgrown Ruins is a maze-like oppressive forest, filled with the remnants of the alien civilization that rearranges like a puzzle on every cycle.
Designed for extreme replayability, the procedural world of Returnal invites you to dust yourself off in the face of defeat and take on new, evolving challenges with every rebirth. Returnal is coming to PlayStation 5 this April 30.
