After all the hubbub on the supposedly Philippine release of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin. It would seem that the announcement of the SM Cinema fanpage was based on still hazy details that they even took down the poster of the image. As for the release of the film, it was Movie Punch who officially mentioned on the details of the PH screening on their fanpage:
Announcement to all Samurai x diehards,we are still awaiting for the approval from the Japanese producers, what we can confirm is Sm will be our partner if ever this deal pushes through and have agreed to a tentative date on oct 17 still to be approved by the producers, our President is currently abroad, and will be awaiting for his announcement as he is still in constant talks with the producers,so please bear with us,we will confirm as he arrives next week,PROMISE!
So there you have it folks! The likelihood of having Rurouni Kenshin here in the country is still up in the air. HOPEFULLY we can get something definite real soon!

Glad to see an outfit that actually cares about getting the movie released here. Even if the cynical part of my brain tells me that they’re in it for the potential truckloads of money from RK fans (including me), I’d still say “Good on ’em” for realizing that we do care about this property and want a proper theatrical release for it.
It better be released locally. There’s much clamor about its ‘coming soon’ status already that failure can be a little hard for most of us die-hard fans! Lol.
