AMD is calling for a new socket their new 3rd-gen Ryzen Threadripper but as always, there’s always new boards from manufacturers for every release. Inheriting much of the tech from the X570 release, the new TRX40 boards feature a lot more PCIe Gen4 lanes, a total of 88, with 56 coming from the CPU and 32 from the chipset. This leaves a lot of possibilities for motherboard makers on how they would wire their boards.
In this video, we have the ROG Zenith II Extreme motherboard from ASUS. There’s really not a lot of info on this motherboard except that it has the TRX40 chipset and it supports sTRX4 processors. As of this moment the specs sheet is pretty much all we’re going by and as this is a demo unit, we won’t be stripping this board until prior to a review.
Anyway, please check out the video for a full rundown of the box contents as well as some details on areas of the motherboard.
No price is announced as of yet for the ROG Zenith II Extreme.
