I was just bored so I tested what games I can play at 2560 x 1080 resolution. Instead of our usual routine with GPU reviews, I just recorded ultrawide game play videos of popular games and affordable games. All the games I tested are very playable and the frame rate counter shown in the videos below is lower than it should be due to the performance penalty of OBS video recording. To show that there is really a performance penalty, I benchmarked DiRT Rally and The Talos Principle with OBS video recording and without OBS video recording.
You can watch the other game play videos in the YouTube play list for Ultrawide Gaming on Intel HD 630.

It’s weird how the gameplay of Dirt feels more like 20 FPS rather than 48. Could be because of the recording. By the way is Dirt
Rally really that hard to play? I got it a couple of days ago but I haven’t played it yet and everyone says how hard it is to control your car.
Yeah, the OBS video recording causes the game play video to look like it’s not playable. But as I have mentioned in the article, all the games I tested are playable.
Thanks.
