CONCLUSION
In and around, the Gandiva H1L Laser Gaming Mouse is a premium mouse and even though TESORO hasn’t entered the mainstream yet. It’ll be just a matter of time when then Gandiva H1L gets the love it deserve. Specially now that TESORO is aggressively entering the e-Sports industry.
Time to break everything down and lay down our score:
Performance: I have had the pleasure of using different laser gaming mouse like the Razer Mamba 2013 and the Razer Naga Expert. Certainly one of the most favorable aspects of laser gaming mouse is the ability to achieve DPI of up to 8200. The Gandiva H1L also features an Avago 9800 laser sensor which are found in most high-end gaming mouse from top companies. Not just that, the Gandiva H1L is equipped with TESORO’s newest Omron switch technology. Omron switches offers performance which switching occurs at nearly the same pushing position every time, which allows for high-accuracy position detection and the snap-action mechanism design of Omron switch produces a unique clicking feel and sound for superb operational responsiveness.
Build Quality:Â Laser gaming mice are built for faster responsiveness and accuracy. Tesoro has a lot to prove if it wants to compete with the big boys in this industry and the Gandiva H1L shows its got the specs and quality. The Gandiva itself is a great gaming mouse with a solid feel but the Gandiva H1L provides a unique experience with its unique grip design. Adding to that, the Gandiva H1L is the only laser gaming mouse in the market that features TESORO’s newest Omron switches to add the clicky feel with superb durability.
Functionality: The Gandiva H1l Laser Gaming Mouse is every bit as good as all laser gaming mouse we’ve tested and with the addition of a new improved grip design, it is another product that we can say that it is on its own league. Added to that, the Gandiva H1L provides additional user control options which includes a shooting speed, a tool for FPS fans to fine tune the shooting speed and ensure optical click rates. It means it can make a plain pistol of any game to an automatic pistol. The DPI is also adjustable with respect to X and Y axis.
Bundle: Over time, constant use of gaming mouse will wear out some of its parts like the fleet. TESORO provided one set of teflon fleet replacement. This is easily a $15 value BUT YOU GET IT ABSOLUTELY FREE! Still, I’d love to see some more swag like a carrying bag or some stickers.
Value: Quality, functionality, performance, and durability. Theses are some of the things that the Gandiva proved itself on. Although the Gandiva is a light mouse compared to the usual premium gaming mouses from different brands that are a bit heavy. It’s not gonna be an issue if you’re worried about it but of course, weight of the mouse is an individual preference. Another thing to take note of is that it might not be a great mouse for people who has really large hands specially if you’re a palm grip user because the middle finger exceeds the mouse and it feels odd when you can touch the edge of the right primary button. The mouse is set to be available soon with an MSRP of €59 which is about $79.92 USD.
Here’s a good side to side comparison of the Gandiva and Razer Mamba 2013.
Wrapping things up, gaming mice are all about their functionality and quality. In the world of gaming mouse, Razer, Corsair, and Roccat are the top brands. Dominating in every aspects of gaming mouse but kudos to TESORO for taking up the challenge to bring their products out and going head to head with these top brands.
The Tesoro Gandiva H1L is one unique looking gaming mouse and it will surely turn heads as it prominently lights up your desk but staying faithful to its core function, the Gandiva is a purebred gaming mouse with superior tracking and excellent feedback. The unique sensation of mechanical clickers is one that has to be experienced to truly understand the feeling.
Faults in the Gandiva’s design is few and far between and we’re going to nitpick already just to point out a few negative impressions. First off, the cord location is just no. We want our cord in the center of the mice balancing it because having the cord protrude from the right side increase the amount of pull the cord is going to do when the cord gets tangled and that can prove fatal in any intense game scenario. The edges have much refined feel than that of the Gungnir even though it has more edges. Still, the Gandiva feels blocky on the palm and the ridges tend to catch sweat and grime, a problem for a lot of people. Left handed people might also complain with the lack of support even though the Gandiva seems like an ambidextrous mouse. Finally we meet again crappy MS paint-created GUI. We may be snobbish, anti-macro purists but we do appreciate the ability to define extensive macros and binds on both keyboard and mice. Tesoro’s ugly configuration utility makes Tt eSports’ idiotic software look professional. The A4Tech X7 GUI is leaps beyond these GUI, and that is saying something.
The gaming mice market is very competitive and it takes a lot to satisfy a lot of people. For the Tesoro Gandiva, its a heavenly mix of looks and performance that will surely spark a romantic bond with gamers.
