Best Games to Play Online without Download

Best Games To Play Online Without Download

Online games have evolved in fascinating ways since the internet became so mainstream. The origins of online gaming lie in browser-based games, which was the main method of playing, though they soon moved onto large-scale downloadable titles. Finally, though, we’ve arrived at a mix of both today. Online casino fans are well aware of this, as they have seen both aspects of online gaming play major parts at online casinos. In fact, this took the reverse route: the best live casinos available online originally required a download, and now online casinos are almost exclusively browser based. So, what are the best online games to play without needing a download?

Online Casinos

As we’ve already mentioned online casinos, it makes sense to cover them in more detail. Online casino games offer players the opportunity to try a wide range of different casino titles in the comfort of their own home. Not only this, but they can be enjoyed without having to download any additional software too. With the number of online players increasing at a fast rate for a variety of reasons, it comes as no surprise that the developers behind online casino games have been working so hard to innovate in the market.

This is evident in the way in which casino games have advanced over the years. We’ve seen them evolve from simplistic games to some of the most impressive, complex titles on the market in just a short amount of time. Online casino games also use live streaming video to help create hyper-realistic titles that keep players fully immersed in the gaming experience.

Forge of Empires

Forge of Empires is a fantastic browser game that drops players right into the middle of a world-building conquest. It’s not like other MMORPGs, in that you don’t follow one character through their story. Instead, you start with a village and have to build it up. You progress through different periods and spend your time helping your village (and villagers) evolve. It’s like similar world-building titles that have been available on a number of consoles throughout the years. There are two big differences with this game, though: it’s free, and you can play it in your browser.

This means that you can follow your tribe throughout their development without having to download anything to your device. Just load it up on your browser and you can start playing. On top of this, you can also play anywhere via your account, so if you’re at a friend’s house it’s easy for you to just load up and dive in. Obviously, they will need to have a browser installed.

Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming

Game of Thrones is, without a doubt, one of the biggest franchises in the world at the moment. This is why it’s no surprise that various games have been created to tie in with it. Winter is Coming is one such release, and it offers players the opportunity to forge your own massive empire in the Game of Thrones universe. Build up your army and gold, then launch an attack that could see you claim the throne for yourself.

Ditto

One of the cornerstones of the original browser-based games was that they were easy to play. Players could simply load them up and experience them in short bursts. This meant that the original browser games revelled in their simplicity. As the quality of browsers increased over the years, though, so did the quality of the games. Some developers decided to use their games’ simplicity to hide a lot of complexity.

Ditto is one such game. What’s so interesting about Ditto, though, is that there is a mirror image of your character displayed on both sides of the screen. However, each side of each level is different. As a result, you control both characters at the same time, but have to dodge different obstacles. This game provides plenty of fun and presents you with some very intricate problems to solve. On the surface, Ditto is one of the simplest-looking games available at the moment, yet it’s incredibly complex underneath.

Cookie Clicker

Idle games aren’t everyone’s cup of coffee, but if you’re going to play one, you should play the original and best. Cookie Clicker sees you clicking on cookies in order to earn more cookies. You can then spend those on upgrades, which will allow you to improve your cookie-clicking operation. You can buy optional automatic clickers which will enable you to earn cookies even when you’re not playing. There’s a lot of depth to this game, even though it’s incredibly simple. Cookie Clicker is sure to provide you with a lot of fun, without any real difficulty to contend with.

If you want a game that will allow you to progress while you sleep, then Cookie Clicker is definitely the one for you. You can play it within your browser and don’t have to download anything to your device.
