Update: RTX 3080, RTX 3090 and RTX 3070 Launch Prices listed here
We’re 4 days away from launch and a day from the RTX 3080 Founders Edition embargo before it was pushed to the 16th but many folks are still more concerned about the final market pricing that these cards will have.
Our readers have been asking for a price prediction for these cards and to be perfectly honest, I mostly based predictions more on estimates from industry sources but with launch only 4 days away, dealers are extremely mum about pricing, following NVIDIA’s gag order for prices to be posted only on launch day.
With that being said, we’re receiving multiple requests from readers about prices so in this article we’ll cover those that are already listed from readily available sources. I am well aware that there are listings that also cite the RTX 3090 cards but in this article we’ll focus on those that are already listed which is the RTX 3080 which launches this Sept. 17.
For our price reference, we will use B&H’s list pricing for their RTX 3080 launch models. Do note that these models will also be available in the Philippines. As of this moment we cannot state pricing predictions from GALAX or Palit until we get more trustworthy sources.
To make our prediction we will be basing off the Philippine listing of the Founders Edition reference price. See the image below for the official NVIDIA PH price for the RTX 3080, RTX 3070 and RTX 3090:
You can read more about NVIDIA Philippines’ RTX 30 launch prices here.
So now we have our starting point:
- RTX 3090: PHP 88,000
- RTX 3080: PHP 41,000
- RTX 3070: PHP 29,500
Now I have to comment these are insanely low price compared what we normally get in retail but following NVIDIA’s pricing trend, we can see a 20% markup for the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 and the RTX 3070 gets a hair shorter 18% markup.
B&H Photo in the US, which is the primary market for NVIDIA’s launch, has already listed their RTX 30 prices. We have an article covering that here. Take note that unlike the RTX 20 series launch, the RTX 30 series Founders Edition cards are set as the starting point in terms of pricing versus the RTX 20 Series Founders Edition cards. It’s also worth saying that the RTX 30 series cards are not reference cards themselves. This marks the first time that a Founders Edition card is not a reference PCB design. That in itself warrants a price hike that NVIDIA seems to happily waive for this launch.
Going back to pricing, RTX 3080 Founders Edition cards can be bought from NVIDIA’s online store along with the RTX 3090 and RTX 3070 once those cards have been launch in Sept. 24 and October respectively. The table below illustrates my pricing prediction for the Philippine market based on NVIDIA’s 20% markup:
Model | Price | PHP Direct Conversion | Adjusted NVIDIA Philippine Price Markup |
ZOTAC GAMING RTX 3080 Trinity | $719.99 | ₱34,955.51 | ₱41,946.62 |
MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X 10G OC | $878.80 | ₱42,665.74 | ₱51,198.89 |
ASUS TUF GAMING RTX 3080 010G | $749.99 | ₱36,412.01 | ₱43,694.42 |
ASUS TUF GAMING RTX 3080 10G | $779.99 | ₱37,868.51 | ₱45,442.22 |
MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X Trio 10G | $904.80 | ₱43,928.04 | ₱52,713.65 |
GIGABYTE RTX 3080 GAMING OC 10G | $749.99 | ₱36,412.01 | ₱43,694.42 |
GIGABYTE RTX 3080 EAGLE OC 10G | $729.99 | ₱35,441.01 | ₱42,529.22 |
FOREX: 1USD = 48.55PHP (9/11/2020-9:18PM UTC) | $1.00 | ₱48.55 | 20% |
NOTE: The chart above illustrates pricing prediction for the Philippine market based on NVIDIA Philippines starting list price. If you share this as fact, you are stupid and deserve to be ridiculed.
The RTX 20 series gave us a more premium Founders Edition markup of $100 but with the RTX 30, we’re returning to classic pricing from NVIDIA with their custom PCB Founders Edition featuring a compact PCB but a very ornate cooler serving as the starting point for their AICs. Vendors like ASUS, ZOTAC, GALAX, GIGABYTE and many more will have their own reference PCB models as well as custom cards.
In the list above, we mostly see reference models above except for MSI’s Gaming X Trio which features a custom PCB and a triple 8-pin connector. The pricing estimate for this card is Php52,713 which looks particularly low for a custom PCB launch card in the xx80 class.
Referencing history a bit, many of the launch RTX 2080 cards were priced Php48,000 but keep in mind that the exchange rate of USD to PHP during July 2018 was around Php53. Today, the exchange is much more favorable to the Philippine Peso with 1USD = 48.55PHP as of this writing. This could account for the fairly lower launch pricing. Below are my personal adjusted pricing based on trends and insights I have from retailers, distributors and vendors:
Personal Prediction |
₱50,335.94 |
₱50,335.94 |
₱61,438.67 |
₱52,433.30 |
₱54,530.66 |
₱63,256.38 |
₱52,433.30 |
₱51,035.06 |
Again, these are theoretical numbers and are grossly over-estimated.

Since B&H already listed their RTX 3090 for reference PCB and some custom cards, here’s a quick estimation using the same 20% NVIDIA PH markup as well as a scarcity markup.
Still, I’m forecasting these prices to be rounded off to a higher price. The intangible value the we cannot put into numbers here is the potential scarcity that these cards may face on launch day. Given that, its going to be hard to give a number on how much sources will inflate prices further which would in turn make it costlier for distributors and stores to price these cards competitively. In one of my livestreams, a lot of the viewers are decidedly settled on the RTX 3080 being priced at around Php50,000 and from the reactions of my sources, they’re expecting it to be significantly higher than what is being presented in social media.
Again, these prices serve to be a discussion point and not to be misconstrued as fact. We will try to get updates from our industry sources as the days get closer to launch day for the RTX 3080. We’ll post updates about pricing so make sure to follow us in social media.
Good fortune comes to those who wait. RTX series will be over priced for the 1st year.
