Lg 23Mp68Vq - Affordable Monitor With Amd Freesync

The year 2016 seems to be the year for new heights of monitor technology. With that being said, LG seems to have released the successor 23MP series IPS monitor on the market known as the “23MP68VQ”.

Lg 23Mp68Vq - Affordable Monitor With Amd Freesync

What makes this monitor special is that it features the same IPS quality that you can get from the previous MP series of LG monitor but the 2016 version now comes with AMD FreeSync and nut just that, it also comes with LG’s flicker safe technology assuring no flickering or tearing will occur. This is one damn fine monitor on the market right now. If you wonder about the response time, it’s rated 5ms so it might not be a choice for competitive FPS gamers but otherwise, a premium choice for me.

class=”tech_spec_wrap”>This monitor had Super Resolution+ available on the setting menu. What this do is that it adds more pixels and sharpness to the image being displayed. Making the images more crispier and detailed through monitor without any additional workload being thrown on your computer GPU.

A hand in hand technology of LG Flicker Free + AMD FreeSync to provide no flicker and tearing experience. Ideal for gaming indeed.

It has a GAME Mode for picture settings but I am not sure if people will like it as LG seems the have a knack for the odd colors of the display when GAME mode is selected.

Lastly, it has a response time control. Based on my experience of owning LG 23MP monitor series, this increases the response time of the monitor of up to 2 ms but of course, in an exchange of poorer display quality although not noticeable but for those who have sharp eyes might notice it.

And the game-changing factor that makes this monitor a premium is its price. DynaQuestPC is selling this for just PHP7,850 (as of May 20, 2016). That’s cheaper than the previous MP monitor!

So what happened to the published price of P6,550 earlier at TPC? Was it just a mistake or was it a promo that just ended?

    • BossMac Suba on May 23, 2016 12:26 pm

Most likely a mistake, some readers reported seeing the price as well but then people called up and they changed it.

There’s no DVI unfortunately. Only dual HDMI and DSUB(VGA).

Could you take a picture of yours? LG only shows DSUB in their product images.

sorry for misinformation, what i mean is there are VGA, DVI and HDMI port at the back of the monitor.

Are you happy with it? I’m thinking on buying one. Is it really 75hz and the Freesync is 40-75hz right?

@vapor I wonder the same but again freesync range above 60hz would be pointless on 60hz monitor also I ordered this monitor so I really hope it is 75hz 😀

I wonder if this monitor matte anti glare display is grainy?

    Reply
  6. Woof on June 25, 2016 11:59 am

The matte coating is not grainy at all – at least for me. The Freesync range is 40hz to 75hz. This is a 75hz monitor whether you use Freesync or not. The only prerequisite is that you use the HDMI input. The DVI and VGA inputs will only give you 60hz.

Which has thinner bezels? LG 23MP68VQ or Dell S2316H?

    Reply
    • BossMac Suba on September 18, 2016 2:07 am

Both are intended to be frameless designed but if we go deeper, I think the Dell is just a tad bit slimmer so I’d go with that.

The one available in Dynaquest is LG 23MP68VQ(without “-P”) and I wonder if its the same with LG 23MP68VQ-P (with “-P”) ? I saw its specs sheet and it indicates that it is 75hz.

I’ve been trying to track this down for many months now and from what I gather around the net, the names are used interchangeably on both models. I keep on forgetting to get someone to go there at DQ and actually check the box if it lists Freesync since that’s the only possible difference I’m contemplating that the -P may stand for aside from other technical differences.

I bought yesterday from dynaquest and it comes with “-P” on model name. Its also a 75hz freesync monitor. I saw from lg website that it has speakers(if im not mistaken), but no sounds when i tested it and I didnt see any speaker grill on this model

          • BossMac Suba on October 18, 2016 6:02 pm

The -P model is the Freesync one it should be the better option of the two but make sure it is the one denoted in the item description when buying.

Mejo outdated pero i was wondering if may difference ba kung HDMI 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 na cable bilhin ko? Or will the freesync work on either one? I’m using a R9 380 4GB card.
